I have been trying to do a family tree for my family for some time and because I can't read Fremish I am having a great deal of difficulty accessing information on the internet. Because my father has passed away and my mother has dementia the job is mine to find all the information I can and I hope that there is some way that I can communicate with someone in the English language. 

I am trying to find information about my father's family. MATTHYS, ARTHUR. All I can tell you is his father his name was Peter (English spelling) and he died a war hero in 1919. My family is from AAlst and this is all I know. Any information you can give me that will give me a place to start will be most greatly appreciated. 
My father ARTHUR JOHN LOUISA MATTHYS was born June 11, 1919.  I would appreciate some type of reply as the last person I submitted an email to did not even acknowledge my inquiry.

Ik ben al een tijd bezig mijn familiestamboom te maken, en omdat ik geen Vlaams ken, heb ik een groot probleem met toegang tot informatie op het Internet. Mijn familie is van Aalst afkomstig, dit is alles wat ik weet. Elke informatie die  mij een startpunt zou kunnen geven zal ik in hoge mate waarderen.
Mijn vader Arthur John Louisa Matthys is geboren op 11 juni 1919.
